Students earn 50% less on parental contribution, which fell from 32% to 16%, and there was a large decrease in income from grants, which fell from 38% to 14%.
On the other hand, student loans, constituted 24% of income in 1998, but was not represented in 1988. Besides, earnings increased by 6% from 6% to 12%.
At the same time, there was first a small decrease in other income, which stood at 24%in 1988 but fell to 21% in 1992. Then it grew slightly from 27% to 34% from 1995 to 1998.
Overall, all income increased during this 10-year period, from £4395 in 1988 to £5575 in 1998.
